Mecwide is proud to have been part of Steelanol a breakthrough pilot project at ArcelorMittal Belgium. Steelanol recycles carbon into sustainable, advanced bio-ethanol.
Mecwide has been awarded as the main contractor for the mechanical installation in 2020.
The scope included the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless steel piping in our workshops in Portugal, transport to Belgium, the erection on site, painting, insulation, tracing and the installation of 171 equipment as tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, skids and the 4 bioreactors.
A highly demanded project with an average of 100 workers on site, that had the additional challenge of manage all the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 pandemic, limiting the workers availability and mobility.
Another important milestone only possible with the excellent Mecwide team.
