Underground Shutdown – Neves Corvo Mine

During the month of July, Mecwide participated with 70 employees in the underground shutdown at Neves Corvo Mine.

The work was carried out in the crushing of the 700 level of the mine and consisted of the replacement of various equipment – discharge bins, Rammer (hydraulic arm), screen, crusher/motor, magnetic separator, feed and bypass chute, drive drum and conveyor tail drum.

In addition to equipment replacements, a general overhaul of some conveyors was carried out, including the replacement of roller stations, rollers, drive wheels, and complete conveyor tables. Hardox plates (liners) were also changed in all equipment.

The shutdown took place over twelve days and was concluded with ZERO work accidents.
